My whole life I have loved to entertain and throw parties for every occasion. Traveling Tarts allows me to combine my love for baking, entertaining, and bringing people together to create fun and memorable experiences. So let’s have some FUN and let’s get baking!
My other passion is gardening in which I maintain daily a large garden where I grow strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, peaches, plums, apricots, figs, pomegranate, pears, apples, oranges, cherries, passion fruit, persimmons, almonds, macadamia nut, walnuts, plus a variety of vegetables and herbs.
I also love to watch sports and play golf regularly.
A little about me… I have always loved bakery food since I was a little girl growing up in Studio City, California.
My family moved to Tarzana, California when I was 12 years old and my very first job at 15 years old was at The Pastry Shoppe inside Gelson’s Market in Tarzana. This is where my love and passion for baking, and especially custard, came to be. I LOVE custard which is a main ingredient in fresh fruit tarts, chocolate eclairs and banana cream pies — my all time favorites!
Kara takes ingredients very seriously! All the fruit in every tart or pie is organic and some of our seasonal fruit are from Kara’s very own garden! So fresh and delicious. Organic fruit makes all the difference!
